REFRAMING 'STREET ANIMALS' IN SAUDI ARABIA AS COMMUNITY MEMBERS

I spent 16 years in Saudi Arabia, where I set up a voluntary group for animal rescuers in Tabuk. Now a legal charity, our small group fights to help injured and abandoned animals. These issues cause create suffering for sentient individuals which drives us to continue our work. As an anthrozoologist I will begin to write about what we witness, how we help and how we are trying to reframe 'street animals' as non-human animal neighbours worthy of respect, care and a life free of suffering.
